- came to take away our sicknesses and pains

- came to give us wisdom
But God has given you a place in Christ Jesus, through whom God has given us wisdom and righteousness and salvation, and made us holy: 1Cor 1:30 (BBE)
- came to give us a life and a hope
For I am conscious of my thoughts about you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you hope at the end. Jer 29:11 (BBE)
- came to destroy the works of our enemy the devil
[But] he who commits sin [who practices evildoing] is of the devil [takes his character from the evil one], for the devil has sinned (violated the divine law) from the beginning. This is the real reason for the joy of christmas, if your rejoicing is as a result of the activities and festivities associated with christmas season, you got it all wrong.
